Hello. As most of you avid FF readers may have figured out by now, fanfiction.net has been doing a mass…

….ironic. I got an email about a week ago from an admin on ff.net saying that one of y stories had been deleted because it had the word “shit” in the summary and wasn’t rated appropriated for g audiences. ….the story itself was for mature audiences and was rated r.

I suppose the good thing is that I haven’t written on ff.net since early 2010. I’m impossibly surprised when someone finds me and comments/faves.

But it was the deletion-without-warning that really annoyed me. Other sites will warn you, at least, but I got nothing. 

As for reviews an critics…. People had done that since the beginning. I remember posting in every fic I did, “Flamers will not be tolerated. Don’t like, don’t read.” I never got a flame. But a god friend of mine,in the HP fandom — I saw it there a lot — was verbally abused by flamers until she took ever story she’d written down. I loved the way she wrote, and it infuriated me. When I reported this person, the admin told me there was nothing they could do, even though I’d screen shot it all.

They won’t do anything now, either. The site was good as a child when I needed a way to get on my feet as an author, but it’s not worth it now. I have DA, AFF, and LJ. Fighting f.net now just doesn’t seem worth it any more.

Hell, couldn’t this be considered cyberbulllying? Does ff.net not realize that they could possbly be sued if someone chose to pursue it?
